DENTAL CROWN

Dental Crowns are caps placed over damaged or decayed teeth to protect and restore their shape, size, and strength. They look like natural teeth and help improve your smile while keeping the tooth functional.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO MAKE A DENTAL CROWN?

A dental crown usually takes approximately two visits to make. At the first appointment we prepare (shape) the tooth for the crown, replace any missing tooth structure with materials that are similar to the ones we use when bonding teeth, and we take a mold. You will leave the office with a temporary Dental Crown in place, and when you return for the second visit, we will cement the Dental Crown with definitive cement.

HOW LONG WILL A DENTAL CROWN LAST?

Dental crowns are built to be durable and can last up to 10–15 years or more with good care. Their lifespan depends not only on oral hygiene but also on the strength and integrity of the tooth beneath the crown. Even with a well-made crown, cavities can form around the edges, so regular brushing, flossing, and dental checkups are essential to protect both the crown and the underlying tooth.

WHAT MATERIALS ARE USED IN DENTAL CROWNS?

At our practice, we offer high-quality crowns made from a variety of materials to suit your specific needs. These include:
1- Full Zirconia – strong and durable, ideal for back teeth
2- Full Porcelain (Emax or Feldspathic) – highly aesthetic, perfect for front teeth
3- Porcelain Fused to Zirconia – a blend of strength and natural appearance
We’ll recommend the best option based on the tooth’s location, function, and your cosmetic preferences.
